Welcome to S.T.A.R.

Members enjoy meeting in the morning for coffee and a continental breakfast and then attending some morning activities. S.T.A.R. offers many peer-run groups with topics such as anger management, making friends, symptom management, conflict resolution, money management, overcoming depression, and many, many more. In addition to recovery groups, members can enjoy spending time on the computer, exercise, or socialize with friends.

Lunch is a free, hot, well-balanced meal provided for members who participate in a morning group and one chore. Members enjoy eating together and socializing. After lunch members who wish to earn S.T.A.R dollars (house money) and work on their independent living skills can complete a chore. S.T.A.R. dollars can be spent on off-site activities and within the clothing and food share programs.

There are several afternoon activities to enjoy at S.T.A.R. Once again, you choose which activities you want to attend. You can attend a peer group, play Wii games, sing karaoke, make something in Arts and Crafts, spend S.T.A.R dollars shopping in food share, or clothing share, or go on an afternoon field trip.

Above all else, S.T.A.R. offers a strong sense of community with many of our members referring to their peers at the centers as their second family. Please come and join us.
