Young Adult Program

The S.T.A.R. Young Adult Program (YAP) serves adults ages 18-25 with behavioral health and/or substance abuse needs. Providing skills to minimize symptoms, work toward future goals, and encourage independence.

YAP hosts 2-3 social events on Friday and Saturday each month to boost confidence, build friendships, and grow social supports. Activities include: Aquariums and Zoos, Amusement Parks, Concerts and Festivals, Horseback Riding, Museums, Musicals and Theater.

Monday—Friday day program activities include groups and field trips focused on improving communication with friends and family, career and education goals, community involvement and events, budgeting, social etiquette, social media, peer pressure, and weekend planning.

Membership for S.T.A.R. Young Adult Program is available to Title XIX (19) and Non-Title XIX (19) adults in Maricopa County who are between the ages of 18-25 years old and are receiving SMI services and also individuals with participating health plans.

Food and Transportation:
Food and transportation is provided at all YAP events at no cost to the member. When your transportation is confirmed you will be advised of your pick up location.

Activity Attendance:
All activities will be at no cost to the members. For those activities requiring a ticket to enter the event, it is very important that you attend or cancel your reservation within 24 hour prior to the event so that another member will be able to go.
