Arts & Crafts
Each center has a large art room to explore art as a form of therapy (members can create paintings, sculptures, jewelry, and much more).

Clothing Closet
S.T.A.R. members can shop once a week in the clothing closet with S.T.A.R. dollars, through their participation in chores and learning of independent living skills at the center.

Counseling
Individual and group counseling available at all 3 S.T.A.R. Centers. Unlimited topics. Sliding fee scale available.

Exercise and Recreation
S.T.A.R. recognizes the need for physical wellness along with mental wellness. Each S.T.A.R. Center has a private space with gym equipment for members to use. S.T.A.R. offers weekly field trips to the KROC Center for additional exercise and recreational opportunities.

Food Share
S.T.A.R. members can shop once a week in the food share with S.T.A.R. dollars, (earned through volunteering) to purchase additional food and hygiene items for home extending their budget.

Fun Bunch
Program provides transportation and community activities primarily in the evenings, to reduce isolation, re-engage in the community, and improve social skills.

General Education
S.T.A.R. believes in lifelong learning. Each center has a lending library and open computer labs. Basic computer skills classes are available through the Life and Employment Skills Center.

Independent Living Skills
S.T.A.R.’s Life and Employment Skills Center is expanding to provide even more hands-on training and education in the culinary arts. Members can take courses on computer skills, resume writing, interview skills, creating and living on a budget, understanding nutrition, basic cooking and meal planning. Specialty programs and certifications available in CPR, First Aid, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, Peer Support Certification and Arizona state food handler card.

Nutrition
Meals are served at each S.T.A.R. center. Members are eligible to eat lunch or dinner if they participate in at least one recovery group and complete a chore for the day.

Peer Discharge Care Coordination
This is a 90-day wrap-around service aimed to provide support, stabilize individuals and develop stronger, natural and community-based support systems to improve their path of recovery after a psychiatric hospitalization. A S.T.A.R. Discharge Coordinator (who is a peer) will be the primary contact. That person will work to coordinate care with the individual, inpatient team, clinical team, PCP, family, and support networks.

Peer Support
Members develop tools to reduce symptoms and improve social skills through one-on-one conversations and facilitated groups.

Physical Health and Wellness
FREE Integrated Care for S.T.A.R. members with no insurance or individuals with any of the 7 AHCCCS Complete Care Plans. Ongoing monitoring and treatment for: diabetes, high blood pressure, COPD, and weight management. Ongoing education on living with these conditions. Preventative care including smoking cessation, flu and pneumonia vaccines, well-woman and well-man exams, and over-the-counter medications. Access to prescriber, medical evaluations, medical prescriptions, and labs at no cost to the member.

Socialization and Community Outings
S.T.A.R. encourages members to attend groups, participate in outings and social events to build their socialization skills and strengthen natural supports and coping skills. Community outings allow members to practice the skills learned while participating in groups.

Transportation
S.T.A.R. Shuttle services are offered to members within the geographical boundaries.

Young Adult Program
Program provides specialized groups, activities, and outings for individuals 18-25 years old.
