What We Offer
At S.T.A.R. (Stand Together And Recover), we provide compassionate, peer-driven support for individuals living with a serious mental illness (SMI). Our services are designed to empower recovery, build life skills, and connect members to a supportive community — all at no cost to eligible participants.
Our Services
-

Peer Support
Our trained peer support specialists use their lived experience with mental health to walk alongside members on their recovery journey. Support is personalized, judgment-free, and focused on helping members regain independence and hope.
-

Counseling Services
Licensed professionals offer individual counseling sessions to members in need of additional emotional or therapeutic support. These services complement our peer model and are free to eligible participants.
-

Training & Certification
We offer CPR, First Aid, Food Handler, and Peer Support Certification courses — all at no cost to our members. These trainings equip individuals with valuable skills for employment and independent living.
-

Basic Needs Support
Every S.T.A.R. location provides hot meals, food and hygiene items, and access to clothing closets. We believe no one should go without the essentials while on their recovery journey.
-

Young Adult Program
Designed for members ages 18–29, this program provides targeted peer support, life skills, and community-building activities to help young adults gain confidence and transition into adulthood successfully.
-

Life Skills & Daily Groups
Members can join structured group activities that build real-world skills like budgeting, cooking, communication, self-care, and more — all in a supportive peer-led environment.
-

Fun Bunch
The Fun Bunch program offers peer-led community outings and evening social events to help reduce isolation, improve social skills, and support re-engagement in the community. Transportation is provided, and activities are designed to be fun, inclusive, and recovery-oriented.
-

Peer Discharge Care Coordination (DCC)
DCC is a 90-day wraparound service designed to support individuals after psychiatric hospitalization. A trained peer Discharge Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact, working closely with the individual, inpatient teams, clinical providers, PCPs, and natural supports to ensure a stable and connected transition back into daily life.
