Who we are
S.T.A.R. (Stand Together And Recover Centers, Inc.) is an Arizona-licensed Outpatient Treatment Center (OTC) and peer-run mental health provider.
We provide structured outpatient mental health services for adults and young adults living with mental health challenges, including peer support, counseling, group services, and recovery-focused programming.
As Arizona’s first peer-run organization, S.T.A.R. combines lived experience with licensed outpatient services to help individuals build skills, strengthen stability, and live meaningful, self-directed lives.

Our mission is to support mental wellness and recovery by providing licensed outpatient mental health services, peer support, and skill-building programs that promote independence, community connection, and overall well-being
Our History
S.T.A.R. began in 1985 when four individuals were discharged from Maricopa Medical Center’s Psychiatric Annex and came together to support one another during their transition back into the community.
What started as peer-led support grew into Arizona’s first peer-run mental health organization and later evolved into a licensed Outpatient Treatment Center providing structured outpatient services, education, and recovery support.
Today, S.T.A.R. operates multiple program locations across Arizona, delivering outpatient mental health services, peer support, and recovery-oriented programming to hundreds of individuals each year.
